James Kennedy & The Underdogs release their new single ‘Shadows’ on August 28, via Konic Records. The track is the third single from the South Wales alternative rock and punk band’s forthcoming album Rebel, due in November 2026.
Following the energetic singles released earlier this year, including Revolution featuring guest vocals from Benji Webbe of Skindred, ‘Shadows’ moves into a more melodic, mid-tempo direction. The song features an anthemic sing-along chorus and a soaring guitar solo from Jack Davies.
According to frontman James Kennedy, the song focuses on confronting personal inner struggles. While Rebel addresses wider social injustices, ‘Shadows’ turns that theme inward, dealing with the personal demons that can affect an individual.
The cover artwork for the single offers a twist on the well-known Amnesty International logo.
James Kennedy & The Underdogs were formed in Newport, South Wales, in 2023 by singer, author and podcaster James Kennedy, formerly of Kyshera. The current line-up also features Jack Davies on guitar, Elliot Blake on bass and Aggy Nowicka on drums.
The band’s second album, Rebel, will be released in November 2026 through Konic Records and will be available on streaming platforms, with vinyl and CD editions offered through the band’s online store.
