Format: CD / Vinyl / Digital
Label: MT Pockets
Release date: October 23, 2026
American band The Empty Pockets released their new album ‘Dear Billionaires’ on October 23, 2026, through MT Pockets. Combining blues, Americana, folk, soul and rock ‘n’ roll, the album reflects the quartet’s longstanding approach to making music together.
The record was made at Abbey Road Studio 2 in London, where all ten songs were recorded over two days. Rather than building the arrangements through separate instrumental recordings, the four musicians performed together live, without instrumental overdubs. The sessions also featured vintage equipment, including a Hammond B-2 organ and Telefunken microphones.
The Empty Pockets consist of Josh Solomon (guitar and vocals), Erika Brett (keyboards and vocals), Nate Bellon (bass and vocals) and Adam Balasco (drums). The Chicago-based musicians have developed their sound through years of touring and recording, including performances alongside Al Stewart, Kenny Loggins and Simon Kirke.
The title ‘Dear Billionaires’ reflects the album’s focus on work, money, relationships and the challenges facing ordinary people. Songs including Eat the Rich, Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone and Dearest Billionaires address social and economic themes, while other compositions explore more personal experiences.
The album was produced by The Empty Pockets and Daniel McCormick, who also handled engineering duties. Nine songs are credited to the band and McCormick, while God Bless the Child is a composition by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog Jr.
‘Dear Billionaires’ is available on CD, vinyl and digital platforms.
