Embla Karidotter recently featured on Burn FM from The Northern Belle’s album ‘Even Cowgirls Get Sad’. That collaboration also draws attention to Embla and the Karidotters, who now return with their third album, following ‘Off Leash’ from 2024.

On ‘The Fool’, the Norwegian band explores country through 1990s country, indie-tinged alt-country and honky-tonk. Songs such as Wanna Ride?, Imogen and Cuntry reflect the band’s playful approach to the genre.

Embla and the Karidotters are part of a developing queer country scene in Norway. According to the supplied information, ‘The Fool’ is, as far as the band knows, Norway’s first queer country album.

The band features Marie Moe on bass, Benjamin Rø Haavelsrud on guitar and Nils Jørgen Nilsen on drums. Producer Simen Følstad Nilsen contributes guitar and pedal steel.

‘The Fool’ is released exclusively on vinyl on September 4, 2026.
