Ben Hemming – Dark Days
London-based singer-songwriter Ben Hemming returns with ‘Dark Days’, a collection of songs rooted in blues, Americana and brooding alternative rock

Ben Hemming – Dark Days
Format: Digital / Streaming
Label: Self-released
Release date: May 29, 2026
Ben Hemming’s new release explores themes of temptation, regret, lost faith and the search for meaning. Combining atmospheric guitar work, weathered vocals and stark storytelling, the songs move between stripped-back acoustic passages and heavier rock arrangements.
The title track draws on biblical and gothic imagery, while The Path examines the loss of faith and the pursuit of money and power. Elsewhere, Another Life reflects on missed possibilities, and Failures of a Fool confronts ageing and regret. The closing perspective is completed by The Musings of My Mind, which explores the uneasy relationship between memory, thought and self-deception.
Hemming’s music has developed from his early blues and Americana influences into a sound that also embraces alternative rock. His earlier work earned praise from The Blues Magazine, Blues Blast Magazine and Americana UK, which described his music as “a unique musical entity”, “songs of bleak beauty” and “a new blues”.
Recorded at Masterlink Productions near London, the new release features Hemming on vocals and guitar, Stefan Redtenbacher on bass and Mike Sturgis on drums. James Welsh handled production and engineering.
