The Sways – Only Devotion
Format: Digital release
Label: Rounder Records
Release date: January 29, 2027
Emerging from the mountains of Northern Arizona, American trio The Sways bring together indie folk, Americana influences and a shared passion for songwriting. Their music is built around warm vocal harmonies, organic instrumentation and lyrics exploring relationships, family and the small moments of everyday life.
The three musicians approach their work as a collective, writing, producing and performing their material together. Friendship and fatherhood are important themes in their creative partnership, while the landscape of Northern Arizona provides an additional source of inspiration.
The forthcoming release ‘Only Devotion’ follows the band’s self-titled 2025 EP. Among the songs confirmed for the new collection are All I Ever Wanted Was You, Are We Already There?, Blue Sky, Don’t Cry and Someday We Will Dream About Today.
All I Ever Wanted Was You explores how sharing life with someone close can give greater meaning to everyday experiences and memories. The song reflects the personal approach to songwriting that characterises the band’s work.
With ‘Only Devotion’, The Sways continue their development within contemporary American indie folk, bringing together close harmonies, melodic songwriting and an emphasis on personal storytelling.
The release is accompanied by live performances in the United States, with the band’s tour scheduled to begin in Tucson, Arizona, on January 28, 2027.
