American singer-songwriter and guitarist Taylor Hollingsworth is set to release his new album, Folk N’ Roll, on August 21, 2026, as a vinyl edition via Dial Back Sound. The album title not only reflects the record itself but also the name Hollingsworth has given to his distinctive musical style—a unique blend of folk, blues, and rock ‘n’ roll that defies easy categorization.
Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Hollingsworth has built an impressive and diverse musical career. Over the years, he toured extensively with his own rock band while also working as a guitarist for various artists.
After stepping away from the road to focus on family life, he continued to refine his craft as a solo performer. Through countless appearances in clubs, bars, and intimate venues, he developed a captivating one-man show built around intricate guitar work, rhythmic foot percussion, and compelling songwriting.
For Folk N’ Roll, Hollingsworth once again teamed up with producer Matt Patton, best known for his work with Drive-By Truckers. Their collaboration began with Hollingsworth’s previous album, Yahola, and continues on this latest release through Patton’s Dial Back Sound label.
Musically, Hollingsworth draws inspiration from artists such as JJ Cale, Mississippi John Hurt, Chuck Berry, Richard Thompson, Jonathan Richman, and John Prine. Those influences come together on an album that seamlessly blends folk, blues, and rock into a timeless and highly personal sound.
Since the release of Yahola, Hollingsworth has returned to the road, performing with a wide variety of artists while continuing to develop his own music. His songs have appeared in films, television shows, and podcasts, and his songwriting has earned further recognition with a finalist placement in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, finishing among the top two percent of more than 13,000 entries.
In addition to his solo career, Hollingsworth is a founding member of the folk-rock duo Dead Fingers, alongside his wife Kate Hollingsworth. He also found success with his rock ‘n’ roll band The Blips, further showcasing his versatility as a songwriter, guitarist, and performer.
With Folk N’ Roll, Taylor Hollingsworth delivers another album that highlights his distinctive musical identity. Fans of roots music, folk, blues, and Americana have every reason to look forward to this new vinyl release.
