Hailing from Pasadena, California, Bill Worrell gained initial recognition as the lead guitarist for the iconic rock band America.

Immersed in the vibrant world of live music from a young age, he toured with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo as a child while his father mixed sound. He honed his musicality, earning several awards for jazz guitar in high school, and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance.

Upon graduation, he landed a gig with America, first as a guitar tech, then replacing lead guitarist Michael “Woodz” Woods. This led to world tours alongside luminaries such as Chicago, The Beach Boys, and Christopher Cross.

After touring for several years, he earned an MBA in Music Business from Berklee College of Music to further his understanding of the music industry, solidifying his position as a well-rounded and knowledgeable musician.

Alongside his work with America, Worrell has also lent his expertise as a session musician to luminaries such as Christian Love of The Beach Boys, Gerry Beckley of America, and Brian Carr of Family Guy. In 2021, Keith Howland invited Worrell to serve as a sub-lead guitarist for the legendary band Chicago.
