Louisiana quartet Doug Duffey And BADD released their fifth studio album, ‘Souvenirs’, on July 17, 2026, through Fort Sumner Music LLC. The nine-track album follows Ain’t Goin’ Back and continues the band’s blend of Louisiana blues, Delta soul, bayou funk and regional rhythm and blues.
Doug Duffey handles vocals and keyboards, with Dan Sumner contributing guitars, bass, vocals and percussion. The core line-up also features Adam Ryland on drums and percussion and Benjamin Ford on bass. Duffey and Sumner wrote and produced the album.
Several guest musicians appear on the recordings. Matt Morgan contributes mandolin and Mason Howard plays accordion. The brass section includes Bob Dowell on trombone, Bert Windham and Coby Heath on trumpet, Nate Johnson on tenor saxophone and Wes Rougeou on sousaphone. Background vocals are provided by Betsy Shirley and Naomi Holder.
The nine songs range from blues shuffles and swamp-rooted grooves to ballads, honky-tonk influences and New Orleans-inspired arrangements. The album closes with Don’t Let The Darkness In, which incorporates a prominent horn section and street-parade influences.
Duffey has worked as a songwriter, keyboard player and performer for more than five decades. He is a member of the National Blues Hall of Fame, the Louisiana Hall of Fame and the Northeast Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. During his career, he has performed in the United States and Europe, both under his own name and with BADD and the Louisiana Soul Revival.
His songwriting credits include songs recorded by Marcia Ball, George Clinton, Funkadelic, Rare Earth, Zakiya Hooker, Billy Gregory, John Autin and Jerry Beach.
