At the beginning of the seventies Supersister was a highly successfull symphonic rock group that made several now classic albums under the inspiring leadership of keyboardist Robert Jan Stips. When half way the seventies the momentum was over Stips played with Sweet d’Buster (THE top live band of the seventies in the Netherlands) and Golden Earring. Later on, in the eighties he made a long stint with The Nits. In 2022 Stips reformed Supersister to play the old songs in a new formation with ex-Golden Earring bass guitarist Rinus Gerritsen and ex-Sweet d’Buster drummer Leon Klaasse.

In 2022 the new Supersister trio recorded a live album with several songs from the four classic Supersister albums from the seventies. From the opening track Judy Goes On Holiday on, the trio plays exciting prog rock with Stips’ tearing synthesizers, Gerritsen’s thundering rock bass and Klaasse’s fierce drumming. The two hitsingles from the seventies, She Was Naked and A Girl Named You, are outstanding, as is the dreamy Dreaming Wheel While. The three musicians showcase their abilities once again in the 60’s medley, where a few 60’s musical themes get a typical Supersister treatment. The album closes off with a more recent track, the magnificent I Am You Are Me/Transmitter.

Later on this year the new Supersister will go on tour in the Netherlands. The newly formed Supersister Trio guarantees an evening of very exciting prog rock.
