Atlanta-born guitarist and singer Eddie 9V is set to release ‘Down Here’ on November 6, marking his debut on Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label.
Recorded at Easy Eye Sound Studios in Nashville and produced by Auerbach, the album brings together Eddie’s deep connection to blues and Southern soul with a broader approach to American roots music.
Following albums such as ‘Little Black Flies’, ‘Capricorn’ and ‘Saratoga’, Eddie 9V enters a new phase of his recording career. Having previously maintained considerable independence in his songwriting and production, he now finds himself working within a collaborative Nashville environment.
Eddie arrived in Nashville with thirty songs of his own, but the sessions soon developed into something different. For the first time, he participated in a Nashville songwriting session, working alongside musicians and writers including Marcus King, Pat McLaughlin and Daniel Tashian.
Under Auerbach’s guidance, the emphasis shifted towards collaborative songwriting and capturing performances in the studio.

The recording sessions themselves lasted no more than a week, with M. Allen Parker handling engineering and sharing mixing duties with Auerbach. Ryan Smith mastered the album.
The twelve-track collection includes Whole Lot Coming For You, Blowin’ Up, Everybody Knows By Now and Horses. One particularly interesting inclusion is Rock Your Baby, originally a worldwide hit for George McCrae in 1974.
The song’s roots in early disco and soul provide a connection to the broader musical influences surrounding Eddie 9V’s work. Other tracks include Can I Sleep In Your Backyard and the album’s title song, Down Here.
The collaboration with Auerbach represents more than a change of record label. For Eddie 9V, it also marks a different way of approaching the creative process, allowing him to concentrate on songwriting, singing and guitar playing while working with an established production team.
‘Down Here’ arrives November 6, 2026, on Easy Eye Sound, available on CD, vinyl and digitally.
