“To me, sticking to genre is less important than sticking to good songwriting.”

Miss Robin Banks featuring The Moeller Brothers – Lost In Austin
Format: CD / Digital Download
Label: Dallas Blues Society Records
Release date: July 1, 2026 – Canada Day
Canadian blues and roots artist Miss Robin Banks reconnects with an important part of her musical past on her new album ‘Lost In Austin’, officially released on July 1, 2026.
Banks previously lived in Dallas, where she became closely connected to the Texas blues scene. For ‘Lost In Austin’, she returned to those musical roots and travelled to Austin for two days of recording at Alnico Recording Studio.
Joining her were guitarist Johnny Moeller, drummer Jay Moeller and bassist Drew Allain — musicians Banks already knew from her years in Texas. What began as a studio session among friends eventually developed into a ten-track album.
Banks deliberately set out to make what she describes as a “Texas record”, although fitting the music neatly into one genre was never the priority.
The album also features contributions from Bruce Bears on keyboards, Steve Marriner and Roly Platt on harmonica, and Dale Rivard on pedal steel.
After the Austin sessions, Banks recorded her vocals with Shawn Kellerman in Kitchener, Ontario. Kellerman also handled the mixing and mastering.
‘Lost In Austin’ is an independent release associated with Dallas Blues Society Records, reflecting Banks’ longstanding connection with the Dallas blues community. The album is dedicated in part to the late Chuck Nevitt, founder of Dallas Blues Society Records.
Released symbolically on Canada Day, Lost In Austin brings together Banks’ Canadian home and her musical history in Texas.
The album is available on CD and as a digital download. There is currently no streaming release.
