Yes – Keys To Ascension: The Studio Recordings
Format: 2LP / Limited Yellow 2LP / CD
Label: Spirit Of Unicorn Music / Cherry Red Records
Release date: January 29, 2027
Progressive rock band Yes will release ‘Keys To Ascension: The Studio Recordings’ on January 29, 2027, through Spirit Of Unicorn Music and Cherry Red Records.
The collection brings together the complete studio material originally spread across ‘Keys To Ascension’ and ‘Keys To Ascension 2’, released in 1996 and 1997. Those albums combined newly recorded songs with live performances, but this new edition focuses exclusively on the seven studio tracks, totalling approximately 75 minutes.
The recordings marked the return to the studio of the classic Yes line-up of Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Alan White and Rick Wakeman. It was the quintet’s first studio work together since ‘Tormato’ in 1978 and ultimately their final studio recordings as that line-up.
Among the material are the extended compositions Be The One and That, That Is, alongside Mind Drive, Foot Prints and Children Of The Light.
‘Keys To Ascension: The Studio Recordings’ also marks the first time these recordings have been issued on vinyl. The music will be spread across two LPs, while a single-CD edition will also be available.
Roger Dean and designer Michael Inns have refreshed the artwork for the new edition, while Prog magazine editor Jerry Ewing has contributed new liner notes.
