Oh Boy Records will release ‘Found Dogs’ on October 9, 2026. The ten-track collection marks the 30th anniversary of ‘Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings’ and brings together alternate takes, demos, acoustic performances and previously unreleased material from the same period.
The album was assembled from the original recording sessions and demos. Among its tracks are an alternate version of Ain’t Hurtin’ Nobody, a demo of Lake Marie and a solo acoustic performance of Humidity Built the Snowman. The collection also includes John Prine’s version of Johnny Horton’s All for the Love of a Girl.
The previously unreleased World Without Love offers the first preview of the wider release. Recorded as an outtake during the ‘Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings’ sessions, the song is accompanied by an official lyric video made with previously unseen Super 8 footage from a Prine family holiday in the early 1970s.
‘Found Dogs’ was first issued in April 2026 as a limited run of 2,000 vinyl copies for Record Store Day. The album will become widely available on LP, CD and digitally on October 9, one day before what would have been Prine’s 80th birthday.
