Label: Yep Roc Records
Release date: May 15, 2026
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jobi Riccio released her new album ‘Face The Feeling’ on May 15 via Yep Roc Records. Following her breakthrough debut Whiplash, Riccio takes her Americana and singer-songwriter roots into a more electric direction, bringing indie-rock influences into the sound.
Where Whiplash centred on coming of age and the search for a way out of difficult circumstances, ‘Face The Feeling ‘ turns inward. Across the album, Riccio addresses grief, anger, self-doubt, desire and change, choosing to confront emotions she previously tried to escape.
Riccio co-produced the album with longtime collaborators Isaiah Beard and Jesse Timm, continuing the partnership established on Whiplash. The musical palette has expanded accordingly, moving beyond folk and country while retaining the personal storytelling at the heart of her songwriting.
One of the album’s key tracks is The Ridge. The song takes its inspiration from a ridge in Riccio’s native Colorado where she used to walk during the autumn. The landscape and wildlife she encountered there became a way for her to understand and process her feelings. The recording features Dom Billet on drums and Paul Defiglia on bass, alongside Riccio on Telecaster.

Other songs show different sides of the album’s broader approach. Buzzkill brings distortion and a stronger indie-rock influence, while Love of the Song reflects on Riccio’s move to Nashville and finding her place in a new musical environment. Wildfire Season connects personal emotion with her concerns about the climate crisis.
‘Face The Feeling’ follows a period in which Riccio received the John Prine Songwriters Fellowship Award at the Newport Folk Festival and an Americana Honors & Awards nomination for Emerging Artist of the Year. She has also performed at the Grand Ole Opry, appeared on CBS Saturday Morning and toured with artists including Lucius, Jason Isbell and Iron & Wine.
Riccio returns to Europe in October as support for John Craigie. She will also perform at TakeRoot in Groningen on November 7, bringing material from Face The Feeling to the Netherlands.
