Eels – Cookie Happened
Eels, led by Mark Oliver Everett, return with their sixteenth studio album, ‘Cookie Happened’, released on October 16, 2026
Eels – Cookie Happened
Format: CD / Vinyl LP / Digital
Label: E Works / Play It Again Sam
Release date: October 16, 2026
Known for combining alternative rock, indie and personal songwriting, Eels add another chapter to their extensive recording career with ‘Cookie Happened’.
The album’s title reflects Everett’s thoughts on the passing of time and the fleeting nature of life’s experiences. Inspired by the unexpected philosophy of Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster, he considers how even joyful moments, achievements and setbacks eventually fade from memory. The underlying message is to appreciate the fact that these experiences happened, even when they have come to an end.
