Texas singer-songwriter Dallas Burrow will release ‘Modern Day Vagabond’ on September 25, 2026, through Forty Below Records. The fourteen-track album follows 2025’s ‘The Way The West Was Won’, but shifts the focus from frontier stories to the realities of contemporary life.
Americana, country, gospel, blues and roots music come together in songs inspired by Burrow’s experiences as a travelling musician. Love, faith, family and the pull of home form a recurring thread throughout the album.
‘Modern Day Vagabond’ was recorded at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, Texas, with producers Mike McClure and Adam Odor. Contributors include Kullen Fox, Mark Tokach, Larry Chaney and Cameron Martin.
Several guests also appear on the album. Kelly Willis contributes to Let It Shine, while Kelley Mickwee and Will Sexton feature on Miracle. Susan Gibson can be heard on the title track, and Lloyd Maines is among the other Texas musicians involved.
The album closes with Burrow’s version of Townes Van Zandt’s Rake, featuring flutist Donny Silverman, who previously performed with Van Zandt.
