Salt Lake City singer-songwriter Coltin releases Broken Wings, an independent indie folk single exploring uncertainty and hope
Coltin – Broken Wings
Label: Waning Gibbous Records
Release date: November 6, 2026
Independent songwriter and producer Coltin Thorn, recording under the name Coltin, releases his new single Broken Wings on November 6, 2026, through his own label, Waning Gibbous Records.
Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Coltin draws inspiration from artists including Jack Johnson, Kevin Kaarl and Buffalo Traffic Jam. His music combines elements of indie folk and indie pop, with an emphasis on songwriting and acoustic arrangements.
The idea for Broken Wings emerged while Coltin was preparing material for an upcoming acoustic radio performance. He wanted a song that would work equally well in a stripped-down setting, performed with just his voice and guitar.
Lyrically, the single reflects on uncertainty while holding on to hope. Coltin wrote, performed and produced the recording himself, playing every instrument on the track.
