Dave Sutherland – Just Like A Black And White Film
Format: CD / Digital
Label: One Eyed Man
Release date: October 16, 2026
Sutherland has been performing for three decades and was named UK Male Country Singer of the Year at the UK Country Music Awards in 2024. His songwriting draws on personal experiences, memories and observations of life, love and London.
All eleven songs on ‘Just Like A Black And White Film’ were written by Sutherland. The album moves through themes of love, loss, hope and heartbreak, with the songs linked by a cinematic approach to storytelling. Tracks include An Occasional Clown, The Mirror, Old London Town and Keep Right Rolling On.
Martin Levan produced and recorded the album at Red Kite Studio in Wales. Sutherland handles vocals and guitar, joined by Holly Carter on pedal steel and guitars, Owain Hughes on piano and organs, Tim Harries on bass and Jim Kimberley on drums. Guest musicians include Frank Mead, Emma Thornett, Tom Kimber, Bryony Sier and Adam Luke Thomas.
The album follows Last Drop Of Empty, released in 2022 after a 14-year gap. That record charted in the UK, Europe and the United States and received recognition from the UK Country Music Awards and Americana UK.
