Heather Nova – The Orchard
Heather Nova returns with ‘The Orchard’, a new album exploring hope, renewal and the emotional power of songwriting
Heather Nova – The Orchard
Format: CD / Vinyl
Label: V2 Records
Release date: October 30, 2026
Bermuda-born singer-songwriter Heather Nova will release her new album ‘The Orchard’ on October 30, 2026, through V2 Records. Following 2025’s ‘Breath and Air’, the record continues a career that began attracting international attention in the early 1990s, particularly with the success of Walk This World from her 1994 album ‘Oyster’.
Across twelve songs, Nova explores memory, vulnerability, love and renewal. While the lyrics address personal experiences and emotional challenges, hope and the possibility of change are central themes throughout the album.
‘The Orchard’ was recorded in London over six weeks with producer Tim Bran, whose previous work includes HAEVN and London Grammar. Bran also handled the mixing and contributed bass, electric guitar, keyboards and synthesizers, alongside programming and engineering.
Nova chose Bran for his ability to combine emotional songwriting with contemporary production. Their collaboration forms the foundation of an album that brings electronic textures and atmospheric arrangements into her established singer-songwriter style.
The opening title track, The Orchard, reflects on childhood innocence and the possibility of reconnecting with feelings of wonder and optimism. Elsewhere, In The Path of Hurricanes draws on imagery from Nova’s native Bermuda, while Sleep in Snow combines a love song with electronic accompaniment.
New Life addresses letting go and starting again, This Wild World reflects on humanity’s relationship with nature, and closing track Anchored is a personal song about the bond between mother and son.
