British blues-rock outfit These Wicked Rivers will release their highly anticipated third studio album, Fire And Folklore, on October 2, 2026 via Fat Earth Records. Following the release of the first single Ain’t No Smoke, the band now unveils Horse To Water, a powerful and deeply emotional track that further showcases why These Wicked Rivers have become one of the UK’s most exciting blues-rock acts.

Horse To Water tackles the difficult subject of addiction and the devastating impact it can have on both those affected and the people around them. Inspired by the well-known saying that you can lead a horse to water but cannot make it drink, the song highlights the painful reality that meaningful change can only happen when someone is ready to accept help.

Keyboard player Rich Wilson explains that the song was inspired by personal experiences with friends and acquaintances who struggled with addiction. While some found their way through, others sadly did not.

Lead guitarist Arran Day describes Horse To Water as one of the band’s favourite songs to perform live. According to him, it perfectly captures the chemistry of These Wicked Rivers, from the rich vocal harmonies to the dynamic interplay between the instruments, delivering the kind of energy only great rock ’n’ roll can provide.

With Fire And Folklore, These Wicked Rivers continue to build on the signature blues-rock sound that has earned them a loyal following, while also exploring new musical territory. The album blends elements of southern rock and country with the groove, soul and powerful songwriting that have become trademarks of the band.

The record was recorded in the band’s hometown of Belper, Derbyshire, alongside acclaimed GRAMMY Award-winning producer Andy Sneap (Judas Priest, Saxon, Megadeth). Working together with producer Colin Richardson and engineer/mixer Pete Newdeck, the band created what they describe as their most complete and accomplished album so far.

A special guest appearance comes from fellow Derbyshire artist and country singer Kezia Gill, who features on the track Sing Another Song.
