Four years ago, one of the best hard rock/metal bands on this planet – being Alter Bridge of course – released one of the best albums of 2022, called ‘Pawns & Kings.’ That record was a true masterpiece highlighting one of the best rock voices (Miles Kennedy) and the sublime guitar playing of Mark Tremonti for 100% indeed!
At that time I found it hard to believe that Alter Bridge could “top” that milestone album, but after listening to their new album I would say that they managed that for sure, as the new album is again an iconic hard rock/metal gem, and a true first contender of album of the year 2026!!
Opening track Silent Divide features a deliciously heavy, raw Tremonti riff; and Kennedy’s vocals are again second to none here; impressive indeed! Trust In Me will become a live favourite staple for Alter Bridge for sure, while Hang By A Threat is a masterful semi-ballad, again with almost immaculate vocals!
This already iconic album ends with the absolute masterpiece song, which is called Slave To The Master and this track is really a glorious nine-minute heavy metal/hard rock hymn, as only Alter Bridge can produce! Slave To The Master is packed with brilliant Tremonti hooks and riffs, soaring, immaculate vocals and a spectacular guitar solo at the end of this milestone song!
Alter Bridge’s 8th album is a MUST have album; indeed, buy or die!
