Robin Trower – For Earth Below (50th Anniversary Edition)
Format: CD – Vinyl LP – Digital / Label: Chrysalis Records
Release: 2025

The first three solo albums – ‘Twice Removed From Yesterday’ (1973), ‘Bridge Of Sighs’ (1974) and ‘For Earth Below’ (1975) – of guitar legend Robin Trower belong to the best albums of his guitar legacy and now the third iconic Trower album is re-released as a special 50th anniversary edition.
This wonderful package includes four CDs, the first one features the original ‘For Earth Below’ album remastered, while CD2 is a newly unearthed extended stereo mix of the entire record; CD3 contains outtakes, rarities and BBC sessions, while CD4 features a newly mixed Trower concert taped live in LA, from the ‘For Earth Below’ tour in 1975 and this concert has never been available in its entirety before.
‘For Earth Below’ is a classic Trower album with outstanding guitar work, which reminds me of good old Jimi Hendrix (the best guitar player ever) for sure. Just check out the songs It’s Only Money, Shame The Devil or the title track, which is a spacy, psychedelic, bluesy ballad with Trower at his best!
CD4 with the concert from LA is of course also a real treat for guitar lovers, just take a look at the setlist – Day Of The Eagle, Gonna Be More Suspicious, Too Rolling Stoned, Alathea and Little Bit Of Sympathy – and you know that it is going to be a guitar blast for sure!
At the centre of this beautiful package is a wonderful booklet featuring newly written liner notes by David Sinclair and interviews with Robin Trower. So, a must have for Trower fans indeed!!!
