Canadian rock powerhouse The Damn Truth has released a stunning live version of “Be Somebody“, recorded at Montreal’s legendary Hotel2Tango Studio. The release serves as a preview of The Damn Truth (Deluxe Edition), which will be released on September 11, 2026.
Originally opening the band’s critically acclaimed, Bob Rock-produced self-titled album, “Be Somebody” has grown into one of the defining moments of The Damn Truth’s live performances. After more than a year of touring across Canada, the UK, Europe and the United States, the band returned to Montreal to capture the song as it has evolved on stage.
Rather than recreating the original studio version, The Damn Truth set out to capture the raw emotion, chemistry and energy that have made the song a fan favourite during their live shows. Working alongside Charlie Agadjanian, Jordan Forlini and Zach Manni-Mirolla, the band recorded an intimate performance that reflects the spirit of their concerts.
The live recording is included as a bonus track on The Damn Truth (Deluxe Edition). The accompanying artwork, inspired by classic tarot card imagery, reflects the song’s themes of identity, self-belief and embracing individuality.
Alongside the release, the band also unveiled an intimate live performance video filmed during the Hotel2Tango session, giving fans a glimpse of the powerful chemistry that has made “Be Somebody” one of the highlights of their live set.
