Single I Luke Elliot – I (Who Have Nothing)
Luke Elliot is een Amerikaanse muzikant en acteur die een paar jaar geleden verliefd werd op Oslo. Die liefde was wederzijds, want de Noren waren ook gek op zijn theatrale versie van gothic Americana. Elliott besloot zich daarom te vestigen in de Noorse hoofdstad.
Het muzikale resultaat van zijn emigratie is ‘Let Them All Talk‘, zijn derde album. Een overweldigende plaat die zijn liefde verraadt voor zowel traditionele Amerikaanse country als voor The Walker Brothers en de ultra-persoonlijke muziek van Nick Cave en PJ Harvey. Een serie sterke eigen nummers worden aangevuld met een opzienbarende cover van Tom Jones’ I Who Have Nothing. Het maakt van Let The All Talk een adembenemende prachtplaat.

“This song was introduced to me by my publishing company. I was describing a sound I had in mind, and they sent me Tom Jones’ version of this gem. With the original music written by Luis Bacalov for Joe Sentieri (later to be used by Ben E. King), I fell in love immediately. This is the only track on the album I did on the first vocal take. I thought it was gonna be impossible to pull off, but it was magic. The band created their own musical world for this song, primarily conducted by Freddy Holm and Bebe Risenfors.”
