Enter Francine Reed, the famed blues jazz, and gospel singer performing a touching blues ballad, where she gives you her heart. (Reed is known as the regular singing partner of Lyle Lovett since the 1980s and a regular member of Lyle Lovett’s Large Band, and has also recorded duets with Willie Nelson, Delbert McClinton, and others.)
Bob Corritore’s sparse harmonica work meets the mood perfectly as does the great guitar solo by Duke Robillard! Legendary jazz drummer Lewis Nash and bassist Ben Hedquist create the perfect after-hours feel. And the glue holding it together is the great Ben Levin playing sweet melancholy piano licks. Francine Reed refers to this song as a blues lament!
