Jayler is an English rock band and Voices Unheard is their debut album and right from the start of this album you can tell that these guys are Led Zeppelin worshippers for 100%.Especially vocalist James Bartholomew sounds like a Robert Plant wannabe or almost just like the lead singer of Greta van Fleet or Rival Sons…
So, I can honestly say that the sound and the music of these four English rockers is decidedly not original, as they are also obviously influenced by Queen, The Black Crowes and even Lenny Kravitz. However, songs like Down Below and Hate To See It End are deeply rooted in the blues rock, and they are mighty big tunes indeed.
Over The Mountain is one of the highlights, and this track packed with excellent guitar work by Tyler Arrowsmith, even reminds me of good old Deep Purple. Riverboat Queen is a swagger-like track while Bittersweet is my personal favourite of Voices Unheard. So, if you like classic rock with heavy blues roots in the veins of Led Zeppelin then you probably will like Jayler’s debut album a lot, although Greta van Fleet and Rival Sons do a better job, especially if you think of originality and diversity.
Play it LOUD and my listening tip: Bittersweet.
