Roger Taylor has released I See You Now, the second single from his forthcoming solo album ‘Violence Insane In A Beautiful World’. The new record from the legendary Queen drummer, songwriter and singer will arrive on September 18, 2026, via Columbia Records.
Following the upbeat Come On Summer (It’s Party Time), featuring South Africa’s Ndlovu Youth Choir, I See You Now shows a more intimate side of Taylor’s new material.
The song is a personal love song inspired by his wife Sarina and their long relationship. Taylor describes the idea behind the track as the moment when, after spending many years together, you come to truly understand and see the person beside you.
Musically, Taylor once again takes an unusually hands-on approach. On I See You Now he handles lead and backing vocals as well as drums, bass, electric guitar, piano and keyboards. Long-time collaborator Joshua J. Macrae contributes additional keyboards.
The single is accompanied by a predominantly black-and-white video created by Sarina Taylor and long-time collaborator Simon Lupton, with Taylor’s bright red footwear providing the notable splash of colour.
‘Violence Insane In A Beautiful World’ will be Taylor’s seventh solo album and his first since ‘Outsider’ in 2021.
Taylor wrote, produced, sang and performed the material himself, with the exception of his version of John Lennon’s Jealous Guy. Joshua J. Macrae, members of Taylor’s live band and the Ndlovu Youth Choir also contribute to the record.
The album’s title reflects a broader theme running through the material: the contrast between the beauty of the world and the violence, conflict and environmental problems that surround it.
The album will be available on CD and several vinyl editions, including standard black vinyl, Earth Blue vinyl and a limited picture disc.
