Chicago blues multi-instrumentalist Gerry Hundt is set to release his new album, One More For Me, on September 18, 2026. Recorded live in the studio alongside Belgian bassist and harmonica player Renaud Lesire and Luxembourg drummer Tom Lehnert, the album captures the spontaneity, energy and authenticity that have become hallmarks of Hundt’s music.
Widely regarded as one of the most versatile musicians on today’s Chicago blues scene, Hundt has built an impressive career as a vocalist, guitarist, mandolin player and harmonica player.
Over the years he has collaborated with acclaimed acts including Nick Moss & The Flip Tops, The Dig 3, Corey Dennison Band and The Cash Box Kings, earning a reputation as one of the genre’s most respected sidemen and bandleaders.
One More For Me was recorded live at Holtz Sound Studio in Tuntange, Luxembourg, during a European tour. Rather than relying on extensive overdubs and editing, the trio recorded complete performances, preserving the natural chemistry and raw feel of a live band.
The result is a contemporary blues album firmly rooted in the traditions of classic Chicago blues while embracing elements of roots music, boogie, rock and blues mandolin.
The ten-track album combines brand-new originals with carefully selected songs from Hundt’s earlier catalogue, all reimagined with fresh arrangements. Highlights include “Caught In The Middle,” a tribute to Chicago bluesman Lil’ Ed, the playful “Ruby Doobie,” featuring Renaud Lesire’s distinctive low-tuned harmonica, and “Strange Things Happening,” inspired by real-life events and today’s world.
Closing track “End Of The Day Blues” revisits one of Hundt’s earlier compositions with a new interpretation influenced by the legendary Earl Hooker.
Supported by the outstanding musicianship of Lesire and Lehnert, One More For Me showcases a trio that effortlessly blends tradition with originality. It is an album that should appeal to fans of authentic Chicago blues, roots music and classic American blues traditions alike.
