Greg Copeland, born in Virginia and now living in Hameln, Germany, began his career as a singer after serving in the US Air Force. Together with the Bluescats, he developed a program that explores the soul of the blues. The starting point of this musical journey is his rich, resonant voice: his very presence is impressive, but as soon as he sings the first note, you’re instantly transported back to the 1960s – a time when blues and soul dominated the charts. From velvety smooth to raw and gritty, Greg Copeland interprets the blues, always imbued with the spirit of soul.
The Bluescats – Jens Filser (guitar), Bernd Oppel (drums), and Till Brandt (bass) – once again demonstrate their knack for providing the perfect accompaniment for a guest artist. With a modern groove and a deep respect for tradition, they create the ideal setting to showcase Greg Copeland in all his facets.
The program “The Soul Of The Blues” consists of half blues and soul classics and half original compositions written in collaboration with Greg Copeland.
