Label: Independent / Self-released
Release date: March 5, 2027

At 24, Florian-Samuel Spaeth is developing a blues-based rock sound that extends beyond traditional genre boundaries. Following his debut album Wild Ride, he combines blues with classic rock, hard rock and soul, keeping the guitar at the centre of his songwriting. He has previously appeared at the 45th Lahnstein Blues Festival and opened for Andreas Kümmert.

The eight-track album runs for 39 minutes and 50 seconds. Its material ranges from blues-rock and heavier guitar-driven passages to more soulful songs. The title track reflects Spaeth’s decision to pursue a life in music rather than follow a more conventional career path. His version of Breaking Up Somebody’s Home connects the album to the blues tradition, while Joshua Kadison’s Jessie is reworked from a piano ballad into a rock ballad.

Spaeth recorded and produced ‘Mortgage On My Soul’ largely on his own in his home studio. He played the guitars, bass and keyboards, performed the lead vocals, and arranged and programmed the drums. Only a handful of backing-vocal parts involved other contributors.

The production approach emphasises tube amplifiers, room sound and dynamic performances rather than removing every imperfection. The album will be released independently on CD, vinyl and digital platforms.

The first single, ‘Mortgage On My Soul’, is scheduled for November 13, 2026. The second single, Jessie, follows on January 15, 2027.
