Blues, Roots & Beyond? – We Want Your Opinion!
Bluestown Music is considering giving indie and alternative rock a little more attention. But what do our readers think?
Great Music Doesn’t Stop at Genre Boundaries
Blues, roots rock and Americana have always been at the heart of Bluestown Music. And that isn’t going to change.
But great music doesn’t always fit neatly into one genre. There is so much to discover beyond the familiar sounds of blues and roots music.
That’s why we’d occasionally like to give indie and alternative rock a little more attention. Not instead of our regular coverage, but alongside it.
Our recent coverage of Fontaines D.C. is a good example. The Irish band has been a personal favourite of mine for years, particularly since seeing them perform live at Doornroosje in Nijmegen in 2022.
We’d Love to Hear Your Opinion
Would you welcome a little more indie and alternative rock on Bluestown Music? Or would you prefer us to stay closer to our blues, roots and Americana foundations?
We’ve opened a discussion in our Facebook group and would genuinely appreciate your thoughts.

Blues, Roots & Beyond?
