Release date: October 23, 2026 (Digital) / November 13, 2026 (Physical)
British singer-songwriter Jon Allen will release his seventh studio album, ‘The Wolves Are Running’, digitally on October 23, 2026, followed by the physical release on November 13 via V2 Records.
The album arrives seventeen years after Allen’s 2009 debut ‘Dead Man’s Suit’ and finds him drawing once again on classic rock, Americana, folk, blues and soul. Across ten new songs, he addresses uncertainty, division and disillusionment, alongside more personal themes of connection and the search for meaning.
“Like all of my albums, this one is a snapshot of how I’m feeling at a particular point in my life,” Allen says. He describes the world around him as increasingly unstable and polarised, with the songs reflecting both the desire to understand that environment and the temptation to occasionally switch off from it.
Musically, ‘The Wolves Are Running’ moves between roots rock, blues, Americana and soul, with arrangements ranging from more intimate material to full-band rock ‘n’ roll. The title track, Asleep At The Wheel, Why Can’t We Dance and The Guru approach the album’s broader themes from different perspectives, while Roll The Dice brings a blues-rock element to the record.
With ‘The Wolves Are Running’, Allen presents a collection shaped by the tensions and uncertainties he sees around him, while keeping the focus on the songwriting and musical influences that have characterised his work to date.
