Wade Bowen – The Version Of Me You Get
Wade Bowen revisits a shelved chapter of his career on ‘The Version Of Me You Get’, his eleventh studio album

Wade Bowen – The Version Of Me You Get
Format: CD / Vinyl / Digital
Label: Thirty Tigers
Release date: September 25, 2026
Texas singer-songwriter Wade Bowen released ‘The Version Of Me You Get’ on September 25, 2026 via Thirty Tigers. The ten-track album follows 2024’s ‘Flyin’ and has an unusual history: Bowen recorded it several years ago but decided at the time not to release it.
The songs were written during a difficult period in Bowen’s life. He had lost his nephew, who was also part of his road crew, while vocal problems forced him to temporarily stop performing.
Bowen entered the studio with his friend, songwriter and producer Sean McConnell, and together they developed the material from the ground up.
Once the sessions were completed, Bowen felt the record was too raw and unpolished to release and put it aside. Years later, during another period of professional change and self-doubt, he returned to the recordings.
McConnell remixed the ten tracks, and Bowen decided the time had come to make the album public.

Musically, ‘The Version Of Me You Get’ remains rooted in Bowen’s Texas country and Americana background, but the recording deliberately carries a rougher character.
Bowen describes the album as more roots-oriented, with rock influences and a sound closer to the way his band performs live.
The title track brings the album back to Bowen’s own experiences, addressing the family and loved ones who have witnessed both the brighter and more difficult periods of his career.
That personal perspective runs through a record written during one chapter of Bowen’s life but ultimately released during another.
