The legendary guitarist Robin Trower will release his new album ‘Shine’. The announcement is accompanied by the new single Live Your Time, including a music video.

Ask Robin Trower about the creative resurgence he has experienced in recent years and the British guitar legend responds with a modest shrug. “You’ve really only got two choices,” he says. “Keep going or give up.”

At 81, Trower can look back on an extraordinary career that began in the clubs of Swinging London, continued through his time with Procol Harum and the gold-selling Bridge Of Sighs in 1974, and has evolved into an impressive solo catalogue that continues to grow well into the 21st century. His place among the greatest guitarists of all time has long been beyond dispute.

While many of his contemporaries have settled into playing their greatest hits, Trower still starts every morning the same way: in his studio, trusted, well-worn Stratocaster in hand, searching for that one riff or note that could spark a new song. “And then,” he smiles, “I’ll wake up in the middle of the night with a line for the lyrics.”

‘Shine’ lives up to its name: an album brimming with energy, possibility and the distinctive power that has made Trower such an enduring force for decades. “Performing and feeling the energy of the audience is fantastic,” he says. “But I also love recording. Playing guitar is simply what I do and what I enjoy most.”
