Honestly, I have never been such a big fan of Danny Bryant, as I “got rid of” some of his older albums, like ‘Revelation’ (2018) and ‘The Rage To Survive’ (2021) while doing my yearly “clean up” of my huge – sorry, I do not mean to brag – record collection.

Now mister Bryant released his new album called ‘Nothing Left Behind’ and after a couple of spins I have to say that I really like Bryant’s new LP, as it is very diverse, with good lyrics, wonderful arrangements and lean and mean guitar picking galore. ‘Nothing Left Behind’ is Bryant’s most personal album to date and musically it is also a step forward, as Bryant’s sound has definitely developed and improved for sure.

The highlights of this album, for me at least, are: Swagger (swinging blues rock with riffs reminding me of ZZ Top and even AC/DC), Enemy Inside (a wonderful ballad with an awesome guitar solo), Redemption (with Led Zeppelin influences) and Tougher Now (an up tempo guitar driven track, again with an amazing guitar solo).

However, the ultimate track on this album is the instrumental, way too short, by the way, called Heatwave Heartbreak, featuring highly melodic guitar work that keeps me longing for more of this stuff!

Sad but true, this album also has a superfluous song, a filler indeed, namely the Bruce Springsteen cover Nothing Man, which is utterly dull indeed.

Overall, Bryant’s best album by far, so check it out and play it LOUD.
