Michael Weston King – La Bamba In The Rain and Into The West
One of UK’s most esteemed singer/songwriters will release his first solo album in many years, after working very successfully with his partner Lou Dalgliesh as My Darling Clementine.
The album is what feels like a really important collection of songs from UK-based Americana artist Michael Weston King. ‘Nothing Can Hurt Me Anymore’ is a collection of new recordings from King in the aftermath of the loss of his granddaughter Bebe in Southport last year. Michael describes it as an instinctive musical reaction to the events of last summer, influenced and affected by that unimaginable personal loss.
“To be honest, it was almost impossible to write about anything else. I hope I am now creatively exhausted on the subject, but I think it affects my writing forever, just as indeed, the loss of Bebe will”.
La Bamba In The Rain and Into The West are available from all digital platforms from January 16. Album release is set for April 4, which would have been Bebe’s birthday.
