Gurf Morlix – In Love At Zero Degrees

Gurf Morlix is a renowned producer from Americana artists like Ray Wylie Hubbard, Mary Gauthier, Rob Earl Keen and Lucinda Williams, in whose band he played before her break-through to the big audience. But Gurf Morlix is also a very good singer-songwriter and guitarist of his own, who since 2000 regularly released his own albums besides his producing work.
‘In Love At Zero Degrees’ is an intimate Americana album with nine songs from his own hand sung with a somewhat hoarse voice in a delicate production. Morlix calls this album his most personal album ever. His lyrics are confessions of a very personal nature accompanied by beautiful and soberly orchestrated roots melodies, such as in the gems Tear Out My Heart, the love song Jessamine, The Depths Of The Blues, Sad Story and Burned Clean.
Gurf Morlix may be a great unknown in Europe as a roots artist, with In Love At Zero Degrees he proves to be one of the best roots singer-songwriters of the moment.
