Single I Zoe Schwarz, Rob Koral & Friends – Venus Ain’t So Far Away
“Venus Ain’s So Far Away” began unusually for us — with just the title. We asked poet Pete Feenstra to craft lyrics, then added a few simple chords that felt naive at first
But once words and music connected, the song quickly took shape. With a few tweaks, it became something we’re truly proud of. It ended up with a strong ’60s psychedelic feel — unplanned, but fitting. Sometimes the best songs come together in the most unexpected ways.
The track features Zoe Schwarz on vocals, Rob Koral on guitar, Pete Whittaker on Hammond, Eddie John on drums and guest bassist Paddy Blight. It was mixed and mastered by Paul Stacey (Steven Wilson/The Black Crowes/Noel Gallager).

Venus Ain’t So Far Away
v1
Weary eyes, peering down a telescope,
I saw a rainbow, smile across the sky,
Look at the moon shine, for a sign of hope,
Magical colours, always make me cry.
v2
Wild Electric flowers, reach for the sky,
We're looking inwards, we need to reach out,
Hot buzzing currents, part of nature's way,
Life's there for living, if your mind allows.
We’re Astral dancing, from Jupiter to Mars,
In Aphrodite’s elegant domain,
Goddess of beauty, an artery of love
Sister Venus; ain’t so far away,
So far away’
So far away’
Sister Venus ain’t so far away
Groovin' in the galaxies, stardust in our eyes,
Can't catch the sparkle, but I’m sure gonna try,
Might be delusion, but there’s one thing I know,
Can't live your dreams, if you don't let it grow.
Wild Electric flowers, reach for the sky,
We're looking inwards, we need to reach out,
A world of wonder, part of nature's way,
Restless desire, tells me you’re still there.
We’re Astral dancing, from Jupiter to Mars,
In Aphrodite’s elegant domain,
Goddess of beauty, an artery of love,
Sister Venus; ain’t so far away
So far away,
So far away,
Sister Venus ain’t so far away.
alibs: So far away
