One of the best rock bands ever, being Led Zeppelin, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their iconic double album ‘Physical Graffiti’ with the release of a new ‘Live EP’, featuring four songs, which of course can all be found on Zep’s sixth studio album, released on 24 February 1975. The four songs on this EP are: In My Time Of Dying and Trampled Under Foot, from their Earl’s Court gig in 1975, alongside Kashmir and Sick Again from their Knebworth gig in 1979.

So, side one of this live EP is from the legendary Earl’s Court gig in 1975 and the first song is the epic blues track In My Time Of Dying. Clocking in over eleven minutes this has always been one of my favourite tracks of ‘Physical Graffiti,’ and in this live version it is Page that steals the show with his slide guitar playing, making this song probably the best hard rock gospel ever. Page’s first solo is really second to none displaying lots of speed, melody, and style, while Plant’s performance is as soulful as ever indeed.

Next up is Trampled Under Foot, a kind of funky song of course, stretched out here to nine minutes and this one again features a blistering guitar solo while Plant’s shriek at the end of the song gives me goosebumps for sure!

Side two of this EP feature two songs from the Knebworth gig of 1979, being Sick Again and one of the best Zep songs ever recorded Kashmir. Sad but true, Sick Again is not one of my favourite Zeppelin tracks, but this live version is extremely powerful indeed and Bonham’s drumming power here is really second to none, while Page’s solo feels a bit powerless. However, overall, this is a great version of one of the deeper tracks of ‘Physical Graffiti.’

Finally, Zep closes out with Kashmir, one of their best songs ever and this version is again spectacular, really powerful with Plant sounding immaculate and Page delivering the guitar goods for 100% indeed.

This EP is therefore a MUST for Zep fans, as these four tracks really show the powerful Led Zeppelin at their best, giving the listeners glimpses of the Mighty, mighty Led Zeppelin at their mightiest indeed.

So, buy it and play it LOUD!!
