In 2019, Canadian singer-songwriter Justine Giles left Toronto for Calgary, with in her luggage her acoustic guitar and a few song ideas, to professionalize her musical career.
Shortly afterwards, the promising singer was unlucky enough that the corona crisis seriously thwarted her plans. Fortunately, she was able to work on her song ideas she during that time and gained a lot of experience with live performances from 2022 onwards.
Finally, in 2024, she entered the Evergreen Sound Studio in Calgary to record four songs under the production guidance of multi-instrumentalist Mark Troyer, which, supplemented with a live track, form the EP ‘Another Chance.’
Giles’ songs are sometimes orchestrated with strings, such as Save Myself and Another Chance, but it is especially the two beautiful tracks accompanied by a full (rock) band Before It’s Too Late, where she occasionally sounds like Alanis Morissette, and A New Adventure, that bring out the potential and class of Justine Giles as a singer-songwriter and performing artist.
And on the acoustic live version of Another Chance we hear how Justine Giles sounds live in concert.
With the EP ‘Another Chance,’ Justine Giles has made a sympathetic singer-songwriter album that sounds very promising.
