At the beginning of last year 2025, J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls spent most of there time in the studio. And now they are out, and back with the release of their 3rd album ‘Bad Love.’ This 10 track album really grabs your attention as soon as the first riff hits, with the title track “Bad Love” which is a nod to the glam rock days of the 70s

This album seems to dip it’s toe in all aspects of roots music from Rock’n’Roll, Blues, Rock and Country. With an infectious rockabilly shuffle on “Lonley Man” accompanied buy a Bluesy harmonica line provided by the amazing Tom Julian-Jones of the band the Cinelli Brothers.

Other tracks include “You Say Your Leavin” sees this sleazy blues number that wouldn’t go a miss in an episode of Peaky Blinders. Ending on an out and out high energy rock n rock number “Mean Little woman”.

The band also collaborated with the great Tom Worrall providing keys/piano and Piers & co for the well placed brass. All these elements contributing a feel good album.

The band have mainly spet 2025 in the studio. J Lee (vocals and son of Shakin Stevens) and guitarist Harun Kotch writing and recording the album at Global Fire Creative studios along with Michael Hartnett on bass and Wayne Riches on drums, all members of the band creating an eclectic mix of songs under the umbrella of blues, roots and rock n roll.
