Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi will release ‘Pure Love’ on October 9, 2026, marking her first album since 2013. The album follows her return to music earlier this year with the title track and is accompanied by the new single YRU Hanging Around.
Cilmi describes ‘Pure Love’ as the album she has always wanted to make: a soulful and organic record built around songs and performances that feel less filtered. The material draws on soul, jazz and classic rock, with influences including Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks and Joe Cocker’s Mad Dogs and Englishmen.
The album was recorded at Middle Farm in Devon with producer Peter Miles. Collaborators include Anna Krantz, Justin Parker, Anu Pillai, DJ Yoda, Julia Church, Alex O’Shaughnessy and Jonny Henderson.
The new single YRU Hanging Around accompanies the album announcement. The song focuses on breaking away from the need for other people’s approval and recognising the freedom to make your own choices.
Cilmi first came to international attention with Sweet About Me and her debut album Lessons To Be Learned. After releasing her second album Ten and the single On A Mission, she stepped away from the spotlight following 2013’s The Sting.
