Voodoo Ramble is a Croatian rockband led by guitarist and vocalist Boris Zamba. The band initially made their name by winning the Croatian Blues Challenge, which brought them to play the International Blues Challenge in Memphis (USA) and the European Blues Challenge in Tuscany, Italy. After releasing four albums in Croatia it was time to present the band live. And because the sound of the band always leant heavily towards British classic rock it was meant to be to record the album in the UK.
It was Oz Cahill from the Media Department of Weston-Super-Mare College who arranged the recording of this live album. Made In The UK consists of eleven songs written by Boris Zamba, four of them written together with British music promotor Pete Feenstra, and shows us a quality live classic rock performance. Eleven powerful guitar driven songs that remind us at the best work from British classic rockbands like Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep and Cream. Highlights are the Deep Purple-like Midnight Ride, the power rock from Home and Little Blues Queen. And the band comes to full blossom in the last four songs, the magnificent Midnight Train, The Uriah Heep-like Street Livin’ ,The Smell Of Money and Too Bad for Heaven, Too Good For Hell in which the rhythm section (Ed Gerlach on bass and Josh Armittage on drums) excels. Throughout the album the guitar sound is superb.
With Made In The UK Boris Zamba and Voodoo Ramble made a very convincing live classic rock record.
