Knut Roppestad is an experienced songwriter and recording artist. He has released eleven albums of original music and is active as a live artist both solo and with other musicians – including his blues rock trio Muskogee Hotel.

Knut played at the first RoryNight (2009), has written his own tribute song to Rory and will play some Rory songs with his hard-hitting blues rock trio Muskogee Hotel for the occasion in addition to his own album release in tribute to Rory Gallagher.

He writes. “Keychain” is the first pure cover song I have released as a single. It was written and recorded earlier by Rory Gallagher, and is part of a whole album concept about Rory that will be released early February 6, 2026 – That album is titled ‘Rory At The Hotel’ and is – like this single – recorded by Muskogee Hotel and Richard Gjems.
