Single I Rebecca Downes – Waiting For The Morning
A roots-rock/blues-rock ballad with Hammond warmth, guitar swells and an intimate female vocal
“Waiting For The Morning” is a roots-rock/blues-rock ballad with Hammond warmth, guitar swells and an intimate female vocal. Nocturnal verses bloom into a hopeful refrain in a slow-burn, atmospheric track that has found favour with both fans and radio DJs, and Bernard Doherty of Planet Rock Radio UK has included the track on the station’s Blues Power playlist.
Talking about the track Rebecca says: “We have been humbled by the reaction of music lovers, Radio presenters and critics to our latest album. This track seems to have found particular resonance with blues music fans and we felt it was only right that we should highlight it by releasing it as a single. There is a certain irony here in that the overall theme of the album is quite dark and foreboding yet this, the most bluesy of the tracks, is a song about excitement and warm anticipation.”
Steve Birkett continues: “It has been reassuring and particularly pleasing for both Steve Junior and me that many reviewers have praised the production on the album. Recording, mixing and mastering ‘in house’ allows us to realise our own particular vision for the music and the reaction we have had gives us the confidence to handle future releases in the same way.”
Rebecca adds: “We are doing a series of headline gigs in February and tracks from the new album will be a prominent part of the set. We are really looking forward to performing the music live.”
