In addition to his songwriting talents he has also started several iconic Boston bands including The Outlets, Dropkick Murphys, Everybody Out, and Continental (the band he co-founded with his son Stephen Barton).
Rick Barton is currently playing guitar, writing and touring with Mike McColgan & The Bomb Squad performing the classic Dropkick Murphy’s album which he co-wrote ‘Do Or Die’. Barton’s career which began in 1979 (Outlets) has now spanned 6 decades. He wears his life experience on his sleeve and combined with his vast musical experience he has shaped a brand new kind of sound!
Soulful, stripped down and teeming with relatable lyrics that will bring you to tears at moments and then have you chuckling over a line you’ve experienced in your life. Enjoy!
